paulie_harraka.jpgMulti-time WKA National Champion and Stars of Karting winner Paulie Harraka has just completed his first full season of Late Model racing for Bill McAnally Racing through Richard Childress Racing.

Harraka, who raced in the premier Western Late Model Division at the NASCAR-sanctioned All American Speedway finished up the season with two poles, two Dash wins, seven second place finishes, eleven top-fives and fourteen top-tens during the seventeen-race season. He capped off his incredible season by capturing the Rookie of the Year award by 72 points over his nearest competitor and by finishing in second place in the season long NASCAR points battle. Harraka was in contention for the NASCAR Track Championship right up until the last two races of the season.

"I want to thank Bill McAnally Racing and Richard Childress Racing for giving me this phenomenal opportunity to run Late Models at All American Speedway through NASCAR's Drive for Diversity Program," stated Paulie. "BMR has a great reputation and provided me with great equipment. To be able to win the Rookie of the Year award and finish second in points in my first full year of racing feels great and is a testiment to Bill McAnally's organization. The BMR race shop is like a Sprint Cup operation with their equipment and cars.

"I want to thank Bill McAnally for giving us everything we needed to run up front and win races. I also want to thank Ryan, Chris, RB, Justin, Kenny and the rest of my crew for all of their hard work. I also want to thank my dad for helping with the cars set-up and handeling. Dad never stopped trying to find ways to make us faster each week and the results show it. We had a great run where we finished in the top three in eight consecutive races, and we fought for the championship right down to the last two races.

"The NAPA Auto Parts and Valvoline sponsored, Briggs & Stratton backed Late Model carried us to an unbelievable rookie season. Dominoes, Inventory Sales, Penske Shocks, QuickTime Racing Products, Holley carbs, SRI, BSCI and all of our sponsors helped us to run up front each week."

Harraka, who won 154 kart races during his karting career, is looking forward to winning more NASCAR races in 2008. "We've got some big plans that will be announced shortly, and coming back to win the NASCAR championship at All American Speedway is high on our list for 2008. Bill McAnally is a great team owner to drive for. I've learned a great deal from Bill McAnally while racing for BMR.

"Every opportunity that I've gotten in NASCAR came to me because of all of the success and positive publicity that I received from winning kart races and championships in WKA and Stars," continued Harraka When I was on the cover of Super Kart Illustrated after winning at Daytona KartWeek and Go Racing Magazine after winning the EasyKart Grand Nationals, it opened up a lot of doors for me. In fact, my past karting relationships have been a great help to us this year, as we utilized a data acquasition system developed by MyChron / AIM to analyze the race car's handling and to then make changes off of the data.

"I can't wait for the 2008 racing season to start."
