2008 Competition Supplement 7 - Event Race Format
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Seattle, WA (January 16, 2008) - Top-level professional karting series the Snap-on Stars of Karting Presented by the IndyCar Series announced today its 2008 race format for the upcoming competition year by introducing the Heat Race format for the entire season.
"We received such positive feedback from our customers on how we formatted the Event Schedule for our 2007 Grand Finale, we wanted to continue that excitement and approval into 2008 with the introduction of Heat Race formats for all events this year," said competition director Kevin Williams.
The traditional Heat Race format will be followed by two Finals on the last day of competition for all of the events of 2008.
"After input from our drivers, it was an overwhelming applause to have an opportunity to 'race' their way to the Finals, so we made the decision collectively to offer this exciting format," continued Williams.
In addition to the recent announcement of the 2008 Competitor Age Requirements, the new Heat Race format announcement is just another thrilling addition to a program that has proven professional year after year.
"We are ecstatic to introduce our regulations, which are also being posted on our newly designed website, www.StarsofKarting.com," said series president Paul Zalud. "This is a very exciting time for these necessary communications to our customers. Expect to see more and more 2008 regulations announced in the very near future."
