The Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by IndyCar Series is pleased to announce that Mazda has returned as the title sponsor at this year's Mazda Race of the Americas being held May 30th to June 1st at New Castle Motorsports Park in New Castle, Indiana.
"We are proud to announce the return of Mazda to the title sponsorship of our largest event of the year. To have such a respected name in motorsport align with the biggest-drawing event on our calendar is something we are very proud of," stated Series President Paul Zalud.
"Karting has become a key element to Mazda's motorsports strategy. In 2007 we were introduced to the industry through multiple partnerships. We are excited to continue those relationships in 2008 and the Stars of Karting and the Mazda Race of the Americas will once again be strong components in our initiative.. giving young drivers the opportunity to have success in the Motorsports," added Mazda Alternative Marketing Analyst, Chuck Miller.
Along with their second consecutive title race sponsorship, Mazda has also renewed as a 2008 season sponsor for the Snap-on Stars of Karting Series as well as the Mazda `Zoom Zoom Award' that will see $250 go to the driver with the fastest race lap in both Intercontinental C (ICC) and Stars TaG categories. Looking to help the sport of karting, Mazda can also be seen each and every weekend in New Castle as they are a major sponsor for the New Castle Motorsports Park facility.
The Race of the America's (ROA) is the largest event on the Snap-on Stars of Karting Series schedule as the East and West division drivers will battle head to head for the first time in the 2008 season. With valuable championship points on the line, drivers will look to master the beautiful and ever challenging New Castle Motorsports Park facility in New Castle, Indiana before separating again to battle in divisional championships.
With a Motorsports ladder that starts at the grass roots of karting, Mazda can be seen supporting series and drivers throughout the open wheel ranks from karting through Skip Barber, Star Mazda and Mazda Atlantic.
Located just off of I-70, New Castle Motorsports Park is one of the nicest, cleanest and most challenging karting facilities that North America has to offer. Owned by long-time IndyCar competitor Mark Dismore, he and his family have spared no expense in making one of the greatest kart tracks across the nation.
The Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by IndyCar Series has now completed the opening rounds for both the East and West division championships. Next on the calendar will be the Mazda Race of the America's at New Castle Motorsports Park.
